IMP NOTICE: COMPULSORY INTERNSHIP FOR STUDENTS AFTER 6TH SEMESTER

All students who are currently in 6th Semester are hereby informed that as per their scheme of study they have to mandatorily complete a 40-days or minimum 80 hours internship after completion of their 6th semester. After completion they have to present their work in a detailed report and also undergo a viva which carries a 100 marks component in their 7th semester scheme.

Due to the prevailing situation, it is advised that students should undergo online internships. Students are advised to look for and choose an appropriate online internship and start it as soon as their End Term Exams are over.

Some of the possible choices:

  1. Visit https://internship.aicte-india.org/
  2. Popular Internship platform like Internshala, Letsintern, Internin, Interntheory etc
  3. Internships offered by different Govt, Private Organizations, MNCs. Startups etc.
  4. Projects under Academicians, Researchers of Institutes of Repute like IITs, NITs, DRDO etc
  5. Projects under Faculty members of GEU/GEHU (with prior permission)

While selecting an internship you may discuss with your class coordinator/mentor regarding the suitability.

Students who are already undergoing long term internships in an organisation can continue with the same.

NOTICE: MINI PROJECT EVALUATION NOTICE FOR 4TH AND 6TH SEMESTER

Notice: Mini Project Evaluation Notice for 4th and 6th Semester

Due to prevailing situations mini project evaluation of 4th sem and 6th sem will be done in the online mode.
Each student of 4th sem (non GCCF students only) and 6th sem are required to prepare the following. (Note: 4th sem students who opted for GCCF will be evaluated as per their GCCF performances.):

  1. Video Presentation: Each student should prepare a video presentation of atleast 15 minutes giving complete details of their project. Wherever possible, the video should contain a demonstration of the project. The student should talk about the problem statement and motivation, the methodology followed, tools/languages used, working of the project, what new things he/she learned in the project. The video presentation should be named as UniversityRollNo_miniproject.extension (e.g.,2012011_miniproject.mp4)
  2. Soft Copy Report: Students should prepare a very short report on their work. Along with the title of the project, student name and roll no, the report should contain the problem statement, a brief motivation for doing the project and the methodology followed. The report should NOT exceed more than 10 pages. Name the report as UniversityRollNo_miniprojectreport.docx/pdf (e.g., 2012011_miniprojectreport.docx)

Students are advised to prepare the above and upload them in their google drive creating a shareable folder. They should keep the link of the shareable folder ready for submission.

Sharing of the shareable link: The students will have to submit the links of the shareable folders containing the files (video and report) on 15th May, 2021 between 10 AM to 11.30 AM. The exact details of how to submit the link will be notified in due time. Students are advised not to wait for the last day and complete all their work so that they are ready with the links on the day of submission.

Notice: Regarding Mini Project of 4th semester

All the students of 4th semester have already received the topics for Mini project. Apart from being a compulsory component of the evaluation scheme miniprojects are essentially queried during placement interviews.

Keeping in view of the importance all 4th semester students are directed to inform their mentors about the project completion status till now by 25th March, 2021. Any technical queries should be discussed with the faculty resource person before finalizing the topic. The information of the projects chosen by the students will be directly taken from the mentors. Also, a mini project progress evaluation will be held during mid of April 2021 (from 12th April 2021). No clarifications will be provided later to students who fails to inform their mentors regarding their projects.

Notice: Google CodeJam competition for 2021

Google’s longest running global coding competition, Code Jam, calls on programmers around the world to solve challenging, algorithmic puzzles against the clock. Contestants advance through four online-hosted rounds to compete at the annual Code Jam World Finals that is held at a different international Google office each year. Each round brings new challenges, and in the end 25 contestants will have the ultimate chance to put their skills to the test, vying for cash prizes and the coveted championship title at the World Finals.

The competition for 2021 is scheduled and Registration is open until Mar 26, 2021

Mid-term Practical Exams [4th & 6th Sem]

Hello Students,

Notice: Mid-term Practical Exams 2021

The mid-term practical exams (4th and 6th Semester) are to be conducted during the regular lab schedule as per time table starting from Thursday, 18 March, 2021 . Contact your lab faculty for any change in schedule due to holidays or other issues.

Also note that the regular theory classes would be held as per existing time-table during the mid-term practical exams.

Learning in the Regular Mode

My dear Students (All students except first year)

It is in continuation to previous mails on the subject cited above. The Government of Uttarakhand has now vide letter dated 24/02/2021 directed to commence classes in the

regular mode w.e.f. March 01, 2021.

However, keeping in view that available time is inadequate to make travel arrangements
so as to report on March 01, 2021, it has been decided that classes in regular mode will
commence immediately after mid-term examination scheduled during March 08 to
March 13, 2021.

The University is concerned of your safety and security and will put in place all required
SOPs as laid down by concerned authorities. It includes furnishing of a COVID Negative

report by you before being allowed to join classes.
Stay safe, Stay healthy and follow all COVID advisories.
